Artist's Description
This was a crisp sunny day in Lyme, NH at the green. The house was built in 1850. The shadow on the wall and the pattern of the porch rail caught my attention, along with the splash of red flowers in the opened window framed by the green drapes. The elegant women who bought this painting was in a wheel chair. She expressed that the flowers represented her trapped behind the porch rail, the rail being the chair.

Your architectural elements are excellent. Replicating the tiny spindles and posts is difficult. The play of the shadows on the recessed wall feels "right". Very fine work.

I totally agree with Jackie on this painting. I love that rippling shadow that runs across the boards and windows. Bravo.

Keith, this is a wonderful painting. The subject is great and the colors are perfect. I'm sure that I saw those green drapes move a little in the breeze...... I love it.
